Seeing God in the Little Things

Today we knew it was going to be a busy but very good day. Today is our nephew Nate's fifth birthday and the feast day of two of our Godchildren, Madeline Therese and Malia Therese. This meant that the day would start with Mass. The kids were very well behaved at mass today. It does not take a lot for the kids to get caught on the slippery slope of misbehavior. Today it was beautiful how well they worked together. Gus and Beedle even helped feed Eeiah her bottle.

Dado was great to come and meet us at our dentist appointment. This made life a lot easier for Mom. Today Mom only had to wrangle the three oldest who had check-ups. Gus was proud to tell all that he had lost his first four teeth since they had last seen them. Gracie was a great patient and was very brave sitting in the chair all by herself. Beedle is making leaps and bounds at the dentist office. This was our first visit in four years (two a year) that he sat in the chair and did not cry at all. He was so big and BRAVE. This will be helpful given he will need a bite put in at next visit! When all the kids finished, they got water bottles and coozies from the dentist. The boys got Spiderman masks, a toy airplane and a Spiderman ball. Gracie got both a crown and a princess wand. As they were walking out of the office they even got a glimpse of the Tooth Fairy. She was off to go teach some children at a local school. Gracie got to sit and take a picture with her before she left. How cool is that! We are so grateful for Dr. Keaty and his staff for the excellent job they do with the kids. No just our kids but those in the community who do not have the opportunity to visit a dentist get to have his staff educate them at school, or even get some free advice from him in the Daily Advertiser.

For dinner, Dado whipped up a chicken and sausage gumbo and GiGi and Nanny Wanda joined us. For dessert, we had our once-a-year favorite from the Great Harvest Bread Co.--Pumpkin Swirl. It will literally knock your socks off! The kids got ready for prayer time and we did it in song. A great way to finish a splendid day!

Thank you God for being present in the little things today. St Therese is definitely interceding on our behalf.
