Saturday afternoon was spent "chilling" with Sam and Ella as we helped celebrate their birthdays. Sam turns six on the 16th and Ella turned 5 on the 29th of last month. The party was held at the Hockey Plex which meant ice skating for everyone. Well the learning curve was short for the Chopins as it would be the first time we'd be on ice skates. Fortunately the camera ran out of batteries so there wasn't any evidence of ridiculousness. It was a lot of fun. Not easy. But fun. Gus really seemed to enjoy it. He was very good at marching and only fell a few times. Beedle made it all the way around the rink with Dad. He tried it again but had his fill after it became too cold for him. As for Gracie, it was not her cup of tee. One fall, many tears. And Dad started to get the hang of it after a while. He thinks he had a gimp skate cause he always seemed to pull to the left (yeah, like that was his problem). As for the Blankenships and Billeauds, they seemed to be naturals on the ice. Sam was smooth and sleek. Emma and Ella were one figure-eight away from being ice princesses. Chilling with friends was fun, especially to celebrate birthdays. Happy Birthday Sam & Ella!
