Art and Nature

Today was a day that brought both routine and new plans. Tuesday mornings are when we have our nature study. The boys draw something that I have pointed out and then they write a story. For the month of July we are also doing an art block. So today as they converged, we went downtown for our nature study. There is a cute little park that has a waterfall and an outdoor theater. The boys were excited to recite their stories on such a grand stage. We then got to walk across the street to check out their uncle's art exhibit hanging in the Jefferson Street Market gallery. They were very excited about seeing their cousins in the pieces. Then we went to the Paul Hillard University Museum. I guess that we will have to return next week because they were a little distracted. Tuesday mornings at the Paul Hillard Museum is used to read to the kids and give them toys that introduce them to art. The kids had a lot of fun. It might take us all month to see all the actual exhibits. The only thing better than getting to see art was actually making it.

How blessed are the Chopin children to have a mother who goes all out to make learning so fun, loves them beyond words, shows them the world is full of adventures, beauty and family. And the greatest of these is Love!
