James is Two!?!?!?!?! Wow! How quickly he grew! James was treated to his favorite--donuts--for breakfast. And to celebrate his birthday, his Nonnie & Parrain came over this evening and we had a BBQ, including another one of his favorites--hot dogs. Here's some clips...

They sanded and sanded and sanded until they complained. And then they sanded them some more. 
Once they were as smooth as glass (or close enough), they painted them and glued in the weights. Gus chose a green color with yellow trim and lightning bolts. Beedle opted for a Tiger-striped car (because he is the rank of Tiger). Dad helped them modify the cars to get their weights under 5 ounces (the most a derby car can weigh). Then they were ready for the big race. The other scouts in the pack did a fantastic job with their cars. 
It was obvious the scouts were really getting into this project. As were the dads in their efforts to set up and plan such a wonderful event--Thanks Dads!
Gus finished with the second best overall time in his den, 
while Beedle had the third fastest time of the Tigers.
Every scout went home with an award, so smiles were in abundance. It was agreed by Gus and Beedle that the Pinewood Derby was a whole lot of fun! 
The boys received their birthday gift from Grandma Dee and Aunt Capri...Beatles Rockband! It was Beatlemania all day and night at our house. The kids took turns singing, playing the drums, bass and guitar. 
The Chopin house will be rockin' for some time!
Gus came to us on Valentine's Day and we are joyful for the love that God sent with him. We thank you God for our eight-year old gift of love! God bless you, Gus, on your birthday! We love you!
Gus and Beedle had their birthday party this evening. Since their birthdays are so close together, they have one big party instead of two little ones. The boys chose Legos for their theme so they had a Birthday Block Party. Their friends and cousins came over at about 5:30pm and were given a project to design their own Lego man out of construction paper. Mom found a template of a Lego man and they were able to color and design it however they saw fit. While doing their projects that had BBQ-style hot dogs and snacks like root beer floats and cupcakes. 
They opened gifts and then played German Spotlight outside in the cold.
They had a blast. And of course, throughout the night, they played Wii until their eyes crossed. The last friend left around ten and it didn't take long for them to zonk out. What a great party and celebration of two special boys!
The Saints won the Super Bowl!!! Our family was on hand to celebrate the national football holiday. It was an extra special day because our beloved Saints were playing in their first Super Bowl. It was an even more special day because it was Grandma Dee's birthday as well. Here are some pics from the day...

We did New Years at the house. The kids celebrated with confetti...
Beedle turned into Super Beedle with a new and improved costume..
Dad had a birthday, as did Gracie. Gracie had a party...
The boys' Cub Scout Pack had a boxcar derby. 
They designed and painted (with Dad's help) their own boxcar. Gus was the overall champion
and Beedle won most colorful.
Oh and the Saints are going to the Super Bowl!!! So are the Colts, making Gus very happy!
