Friday Night Fires
On the past couple of Fridays we've started a new tradition...hot dogs and marshmallows over the fire pit. We roast weenies, sing songs, and finish with S'Mores. It's some good family bonding time.

Packed with Heroes
The boys had their first pack meeting tonight. The theme was "Our Heroes" and the scouts were asked to dress as their favorite hero. Gus was inspired to be a soldier. 
Gus identifies quite well with that hero--dutiful, honorable, and strong. 
Beedle, on the other hand, chose Larry Boy from Veggie Tales as the hero he most identifies with. 
Like Larry Boy, Beedle is fun-loving, conflicted, and silly. 
I thought they did a great job of picking heroes that matched their personalities.
As you can imagine, the boys did not want to take off their costumes. They preferred to stay heroes--even if it was for just one evening.

There were priests, geniuses, saints, football players and world leaders. 
Mr. Gregg's hero was his pet duck, Hiroshima.
